CONCEPT NOTE

Created during the 9 day period of Hindu Calendar in which each day a new form of the Goddess is worshipped in temples and households across India. The diversity of a land brings itself out in local topical flavors.
In my project 9 days of Devi, I explored how we see the goddess in various versions across India. From the rural to the refined, from the ancient to the modern, from the family and community to the yogic and tantric.
I have used color only where I felt essential. My findings and experience was very inspiring, very meditative and very spectacular. These are artistic representations of original idols highlighted through a process of detailing.
