Sketches of Mount Kailash
What are temples? They are the abode of god as seen through the human eye.
When I sat down to make Kailash, I never could have imagined I would end up making something that looks so much like a temple. But here it is. The North Face of Mt.Kailash. the South face of Kailash with its very own spinal column, resembles a human spine. the imagery created itself into the likeness of a sleeping female energy, just waking up to life and its possibilities like the kundalini, weighed down by layers of karmic baggage.
My journey inside continues.
Recreating from the mind, seeing through the mind's eye, we see images in clouds, and water, and trees and dreams. The mind looks through the paper and the ink, and the hand moves on. Continuing to recreate like a machine. Hand-eye-mind coordination. Remembering a lecture of Swami Chinmayanand and thinking, is this any less than a miracle, the sofisticated functioning of this machine.
More Black pen on paper work that has kept me going these days. I'm even more intrigued at the end of it...With both the idea of a worshipped mountain, and the impact of black-and-white. Kailash folding in from the West. Almost like the hollow of a vessel like contraption that's channeling energies.
My fourth and final offering in the series to the mighty mountain. The likeness of the natural formation of Kailash to a temple became unbelievably true for me. The large presence, benevolent, over powering, encompassing.
It is there. Now.
